Mashable, one of Boldwerks’ personal favorite digital media news sites is constantly presenting the latest and most innovative ad campaigns, as well as bringing attention to other trends pertaining to marketing and advertising alike. This resonates well with us, especially when they curate content that educates their followers on how to enhance and augment their own businesses. As a small ad agency in Portsmouth, NH, we are constantly educating ourselves so that we can strive to be the best version of ourselves, and a recent BizChat titled: “How Your Small Business Can ‘Sleigh’ The Holiday Season,” provided us with some useful tips that you may find helpful as well. We took our own spin on some of the topics discussed, and present our thoughts on how you too can thrive this season.

What are some holiday marketing trends that are especially present during this holiday season?

We live in a digital world and more than ever before, consumers rely heavily on online interaction. It is important to be timely with your responses. Listen to what it is that your customer wants from you. Here at Boldwerks, we make sure that we are present through all online mediums, from Facebook to Twitter, Instagram to email, and so much more.

How can you generate the best experience possible through social media outlets this holiday season?

Again, ‘tis the season to take advantage of mobile capabilities! Post more and try to capitalize on generating awareness on posts. Invite users to comment on posts, and interact with your brand as much as possible. Also find out what the prime time is to post on social media in order to maximize likes and clicks.

How can your company show customers loyal to your brand that you care during this holiday season?

In this case, it’s always good to go back to the basics. A hand-written note always wins over an email or automated response. Be sensible with your response, and write something personal to show that you appreciate their patronage.

With the New Year coming in hot, what are your recommendations toward purchasing new technology?

Because there will always be new technology in the works, it’s hard to know when it’s time to upgrade and join the “innovators” bandwagon. Being an ad agency, we use lots of technology to produce the work that we do. However, we feel that it is not important to have the latest gadgets unless it is crucial to your business’ success. It is okay to be a laggard if it means that you are still optimizing your offerings and staying up to date.

Are there any other recommendations you have to small businesses alike to consider during the holidays?

Although there is lots of growth potential during the holiday months, it is also important to spend time with your loved ones and enjoy the holiday for yourself. Work hard and play hard, and also eat a lot of good food!

Overall, the key takeaways that we got out of this holiday BizChat are to heavily engage. Have an online presence with your customers.  Giving our clients a good experience is always apart of our regimen as an organization. However, doing so during the holidays is especially important.
